Blinded by Colours
Concept
This is a photograph created based on the concept and idea of constructed photograph. In other words, it is a photograph of a miniature set that you built.
A little background here, I have a problem of colour weakness. I can’t identify the colours that looked similar. Like light green and yellow, purple and blue, some kind of blue and green. And it is a problem that always confuse me when I have to do something that is colour related. So I chose to make this kind of self portrait to show what is my feeling when I am facing a lot of colours. It is a feeling of having a weird stress and like the colours are trapping me.
How I made it
I used the technique of paper mache, a great technique taught by my friend Alexis, to made the figure to be me and hand paint on the paper cardboard to be the wall. And I set the camera to be having an around 25 seconds exposure time to do long exposure, and do the light paint on the wall. If I had a wider lens back then, it will probably be better by having less compression, and the distance by the figure to the wall will be further away.
