What if there are only one colour and one texture?

My feeling when I see colours. When a lot of them looks similar.

“Re-arranging” the landscape.

Taking photos of beautiful things is my hobbies since I was small. Since the 2017 Hokkaido trip, I tried to learn a little more about the control of cameras. Photography became a daily essential for me ever since.

I stayed in Hong Kong until 2021. And travel to Japan regularly in the summer before I left Hong Kong. Moved to Toronto to study in University of Toronto from 2021 until 2025. And moved to Vancouver in 2025. So the photos are mostly shot in Hong Kong, Japan and Canada.

Most of them are shot by Sony in the earlier days. And Nikon for the later ones.

Most of them are shot in digital 135 full frame. And some of them are from the 1 inch RX100IV from the earlier ones.

A few works are like photographing a mini model set like Blinded by Colours, and Home; Flood Water and Wild Fire. I chose to use this approach and technique and using light to build up the scene so as to create the unrealistic yet a bit dramatic atmosphere for the work.

I like to use a lot of colours in the work. I like to use vivid colours to create the lively feeling but sometimes it is because simply I think it matches.

I am not to the point of blind like can’t distinguish all the colours. But fot the colours that are similar I cannot differentiate them. Like blue and purple, light yellow and light green, green and brown. But this problem has made me to freely create a lot of things and create an unusual harmony.

In my last two works, I tried to push photos presentation a bit further. As I consider photo as a fast medium, which means people only check the photo quickly and leave for something else, I tried to add more elements to the experience of seeing photos. That’s why I used scent and altering the viewing angles of photo to extend the time required to see and experience the photo.

Strong visual impact and presence is one of the important concept I hold. As I want to make the work to be something unusual and to have a special experience to the audience. I hope that you will enjoy seeing my work!

Text based work in my preference is mainly for conveying a strong, singular, clear message but in a fun way.

I mock the original design for some of my work. I altered the meaning to be something completely different or even opposite to the original one for irony and fun. But not bad intention I must make it clear.

The layout of how to line up the texts is one of the main technique that define how to use text as image.

The work usually has to be designed for putting in a specific context to maximise the message. And the template design that match the context for exhibiting would also help to emphasise the message.

The palette choice for the work would be setting the theme and tone for the work. So some of them I used more colours. Some of them as I took the template to modify it and to make it look like the authentic original, I follow the colours of the original template.
